Thomas Mayernik is a lifelong resident of Lake County, where he still resides with his wife, Michelle, and their three children, Joshua, Matthew and Lauren. He is a graduate of Lake Catholic High School.
Thomas graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1986 with a B.S. in business administration. He was a multiyear letterman in football, was the Lee Tressel Academic Excellence Award winner and was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society. He graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1989, where he was a member of the Jerome Prince Moot Court team, which won the award for the best brief. He was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, a national honor society which recognizes excellence in advocacy.
Thomas has been in private practice since 1989. The first few years as an associate in a regional insurance defense firm, where he gained first- and second-chair trial experience. In 1993, he joinedZiccarelli, & Martello, where he has specialized as lead trial attorney in the areas of personal injury, worker’s compensation, contracts, commercial transactions and probate matters, appearing in both state and federal courts. He is admitted to practice law in the state of Ohio, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, 6th Circuit Court of Appeals and United States Supreme Court. He is active in his church, having served as a trustee and has served as an arbitrator and mediator in the local courts.
